Join us for a week in the Blue Ridge Mountains during beautiful peak color season. This art therapy/yoga retreat has class options for everybody. This week includes all lodging, meals, classes, yoga and entertainment. Just bring yourself and an open mind.
Choose one of the following two art classes as your focus for the week:
Option 1) Art Therapist Micah Goguen will lead a class in Painting Mosaic Stained Glass Effects using matte acrylics and special grounds for fluid media, we will create layers to make a glowing marbled stained glass effect. Choose from over 150 designs that capture your own special interest. Materials provided.
Option 2) Artist Kathy Murphy from Macon Mud Studio will lead Altarista: Creating your own altar. Cultures throughout the ages have built “shrines” designed to celebrate, to remember, to mourn and to hope. You will explore a variety of decorating techniques to embellish your creation in clay. You will primarily use hand building techniques but are also invited to explore the wheel.
Yoga for all levels provided daily by Pegi Vaughn of Breathe Studio in Forsyth. Pegi will offer alternating classes each day in mat yoga and chair yoga. She specializes in restorative yoga and will work with you to meet you at your level and help with suggestions to maintain your own practice. Massage services upon request (hour or half hour). Hike the many trails nearby, go horseback riding or trout fishing, listen to our live musical performance by Bruce Greene and Koreloy as it captures the Appalachian heritage. Full schedule listed in the discussion session. There is a guided tour to Penland School of Crafts. Spaces are limited so reserve your spot. $800 covers all costs of lodging, meals everyday, art and yoga. Just a little over $100 a day for an all inclusive week you won’t soon forget! A $75 Registration Deposit is required to secure a spot. (This is included in the $800 total). Another deposit of $350 will be paid to your instructor in order to book the teachers starting July 1st. Please indicate which art class you are interested in as your focus during the week. Once you email to register, your instructor will email a pay link for you to register.
